We had started communicating via text. The online platform that we were on, just wasn't allowing for a free flowing way for us to chat. He was really witty and creative in the way that he would joke around and I found myself relating in many aspects. He finally became comfortable enough to ask me out on a date. I accepted and we started planning.
We landed on a simple coffee date at Starbucks.
It was a Friday night.
We met for the first time at a fancy burger joint. He was cute. Salt and pepper hair, nice smile, dimples, dressed to impress. Our conversation was really good and we were getting along really well.
I had dated THE hottest guy for a few very intense months.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances, which I’ll detail in a separate story at some point, had led to our fall out and we hadn’t spoken in over a year.
In the time apart I had dated someone else, but that had just ended, so I was back on the dating app where me and the hot guy initially met. After a few weeks, I wake up to a message from my hot guy.

He’s super hot. His bio is all about sports and cars and other manly sounding stuff. Something is odd though - he only has one picture on his profile.
The dinner was lovely, company was good, conversation was good too. But there was one odd statement he said several times throughout the course of dinner -- “Sorry to keep you out so late on a work night”.
It was Thursday, but it was only 6 o’clock.
“You’re cute, but you live too far.”
This was his opening message to me, and he was right. He lived in Long Beach. That's a good 2 hours drive in rush hour traffic. (LA traffic really sucks!)
